Fender Bender and Steering Problems

Not sure if anyone can help but we accidentally side swiped a concrete pillar tonight. The cosmetic damage isn't too too bad on the front drivers side. Some dents and scratches.....I think one part can be hammered and buffed out but the other part of the fender will have to be replaced. But when I was driving I noticed a steering issue - and I can't be sure but I think the power steering was affected or it's an axel issue.

Any ideas? Also if you have had body work done on the car - without seeing the damage - any ideas on possible cost?

Thanks for your help!
