Injector Problem? No Power... Help
My boyfriend has a 1991 Nissan 300ZX non-turbo 5 speed..
When he bought the car it ran rough since it had been sitting for a few years prior to him buying it.
Anyway, the car lacks power i guess you could say.. When accelerating he pretty much has to wait until the RPM's are at about 5000 to be able to shift into a higher gear otherwise it wont have enough power to stay in the higher gear and it wont accelerate much.
A Mechanic (Ferrari Mechanic.....) looked @ it and said he thinks the car is only running on 4 of the 6 cylinders. Someone else brought to our attention that if it was one of the injectors it should be triggering the check engine light to come on.
Another person mentioned it could be the internal computer itself but that also should trigger the Engine light i think..
Anyone else have this problem or know of any things that we can check to fix this?? Or can anyone confirm it could indeed be 2 of the injectors?
Ill take any input you got, he wants this thing fixed but we dont have the money to just throw into buying all new injectors etc..
Also, this may or may not be related, but both exhausts rotted through and were removed so it has no exhaust on it from cat back.
Thanks and i hope SOMEONE can help!
