95 Grand Am 2.3L no cold-start

Got a 95 Grand Am 2.3 L 117,000 miles. Car doesn't start when cold. When it does starts it runs and drives preety good except the occasional heistation or non-response while accelerating. New Plugs, Quite a few new sensors. No check engine light. Any ideas or feedback would be sweet. Thanx

Welcome to AF!

Check the fuel pressure. Check that the computer is seeing the correct ECT and IAT. Check the hose to the MAP sensor for cracks. You could also run a bottle of Seafoam through the gas tank, might not fix it but it sure won't hurt.

Re: 95 Grand Am 2.3L no cold-start

So true J-Ri. Todays engines do not have chokes. They depend on temperature sensors, air and engine, to tell the computer when to call for a rich "cold start" mixture. Nothing worse than an engine with nerve damage???

Plus this is probly a ODB I/ODB II (ODB 1.5-hybrid) so getting a free scan isn't always easy.
That would probley give some clues though whats going wrong

Also make sure you dont have any vacum leaks, or loose intake manifold bolts.
