Is 2008 the last year for Uplander???

Tonight, I chatted to a lady about her 2006 Uplander. She was very pleased with it and told me she'd buy another. Especially the 2008 - with the larger (stronger) engine and larger brake disc system.

At the end of our conversation, she told me that 2008 is the last year for the Uplander. Going forward, GM will focus more on cross-over vehicles. Van shape with 4 x normal doors. Is 2008 the last year for the Uplander?

thanks.

Re: Is 2008 the last year for Uplander???

Well the answer is yes and no. In 2005 GM said they were closing the plant in Georgia where the Uplanders were made in late 2007. However they will still be made in Canada after that. The original plan was to produce them up to 2009 when they were supposed to be replaced with a new crossover platform, which in the meantime was canceled by GM. The latest thing I heard was that GM was supposed to debut a new crossover platform different than the one they canceled in 2011.
