I tried turning on the car and the key broke in the ignition. about 1/4 of the key broke in the igniton and then my brother tried putting the key in there and before I could tell him not to he shoved the key in. Now the small piece is all the way in there. I was wondering what would be the easiest way to remove the broken piece. Its a 95 Impreza. Would crossing the wires work to turn it on the red and green then yellow and blue.

thanks

Pay a locksmith to fix the problem correctly.

Do not hotwire the car, it's not as easy as crossing all the wires and it can damage the ignition system.

Well we decided to go with a new ignition swithch. We got all the plastic pieces off and we cant seem to figure out how to remove it.

Use a flat Dremel cutting wheel from the bottom to etch a groove in to the blank rivet-looking things and use a flathead to unscrew them.
