1989 Cherokee Laredo no sparkjglenn 04-25-2008, 10:08 PM hi my 1989 Cherokee Lared 4.0 liter engine no spark to the coil wire and the wire going to ingnition control module got fire on a and i got ground on b and i had the ingnition control module tested at advanced auto parts and it good and i put a new crankshaft position sensor on it no spark and i get injector pulse how do you check the computer code on 1989 cherokee lared wwwildman 04-25-2008, 10:44 PM Based on what you explained and what you have already tested/done, I would suggest you replace the pickup coil AKA stator in the distributor. In order to do this you will have to remove the distributor, the distributor gear and then replace the stator. This part only costs 30-40 dollars and can be found at auto zone or advance auto. An alternative is to replace the whole distributor (more costly). I had to do this on both my son's 89 and daughter's 90. Hope this helps Mike jglenn 04-26-2008, 10:36 PM hi i replace the pickup coil AKA stator in the distributor no spark would it be the ecu thank for the help wwwildman 04-27-2008, 11:33 AM Did you also have the Ignition Coil checked when you checked the ignition contol module? You can check it yourself or take it to auto zone or advance auto to have it tested. It sits on top of the ICM and has the plug wire attached to it. jglenn 04-27-2008, 01:33 PM advanced auto check the ignition coil and it good at the ingnition control module it got 2 yellow wire and 1 got fire on it and 1 dont have no fire on it and when i turn the ignition switch on do the 2 yellow wire have fire on it or is it the wire come form the ecu jglenn 05-02-2008, 09:55 PM thank for the help i put a ecu in it and it run good Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
