Mustange rear end

Can some one tell me the width of a 67 Mustange rear end from backing plate to backing plate?

Re: Mustange rear end

Well, I got 59 1/4 inches from flange to flange. I figure about 54-55 inches between the backing plates.

The range is given because the backing plate has some ridges and grooves on it, it depends on where you measure.

Re: Mustange rear end

Thanks sounds like it might work for what I want to do. I want to use it in place of the stock rear on a 63 Chev Nova.Between backing plates it measures 53 inches. This would give just a little wider stance on the backand I have more room to the outsideof the fender wells then to the inside . This would be good for wider tires. Thanks again

Re: Mustange rear end

The Chevy II (Nova ) has leaf springs in the back, yes?
Do the spring perch locations match on the Chevy and Ford rears?

It's possible to cut and relocate the perches but its a challenge to get the pinion shaft angle right. It may be easier to find a rear which has a match.
