Motorsport engine into Ferrari ??

Does anyone know if its possible to transplant an M88 engine and 4-speed ZF transmission into a Ferrari V12 engine bay ? Has it ever been done successfully and are there any links or threads out there ?
Having gotten over the obvious 'why would anyone want to' question (simple answer the original V12 engine is beyond repair and a replacement is out of the question) I think its achievable.
I know I'm crazy for trying but I'd really like to give this idea a fair hearing.
Help ?
