Talking 1996 C280 Buyer

I'm considering buying a 1996 C280 with 105K miles. Asking price is around 7K. Any words of wisdom or specific items to look for? My last MB was a 1975 250S while stationed in Germany and loved it but it ran like crap sometimes.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Re: 1996 C280 Buyer

I would find a really good and trusted mechanic and have them do a ppi.
Check with your local MB Club.

Re: 1996 C280 Buyer

I have a 1994 C280 with about 170000 mi. Rides great, solid dirve train. Little things getcha, i.e. clock light goes out, led lights on radio dial face goes out. Lights on gear shifter comes and goes. Air vents in center of dash do not blow cool or hot. Subject to develop an oil leak that is expensive to fix. Stop engine light subject to come on with multiple codes.

Still looks and ride great.
