blower motor resistor

do i have to widen slot on 2003 sebring when replacing the heater blower resistor?

I just did this on the weekend! The replacement blower resistor is too large to fit in the narrow slot. I just simply used a good quality utility knife, and shaved off some plastic towards the back until the part fit in place.
