Re: p1441

Technically the P1441 DTC indicates a purge solenoid stuck open. The test begins after the vent solenoid circuit check and then monitors tank vacuum decay. Did you have the same DTC last summer?

no. Last summer it was a diff. dtc. Something specific to the evap cannister. Is this purge solenoid the one i swapped out or a different component???

Re: p1441

Was it the one at the engine side by the Upper Intake Manifold or the one at the evaporative cannister? This DTC relates to the one engine side. You'll have a vacuum line coming from the throttle body at the purge solenoid and one that goes back to the rear so check those too.

Also, check the electrical connector to it.

Re: p1441

I had the same code recently, I changed the purge solenoid but the code came back a few days later. It turned out to be the switch, so you may want to check that.

Check out this link: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ighlight=purge
You're system might not be the same, but it may help.

Re: p1441

just for shitts n giggles i went out n checked all the lines n leads. Just happened to take off the purge solenoid (the one i swapped last summer) n gave it a shake and no rattle. I remember when it was new i could hear something freely moving inside. goona order a new one but i believe this to be the problem. If not i'll let ya know. Thanks for the quick posts fellas
