1999 grand prix gtp no power
When I am on level highway and at normal speed I do not see a problem. When I approach a grade and speed up just a little the boost maxs out and still has no power and then if I really give it the gas it starts to ping real bad and will die in the next 10 seconds. I will turn off the key and wait 5 to 10 seconds and it will refire. I changed the fuel filter and no help. It has 125,000 mile on it.

Regular gas. The lowest octane That is what I have always ran.

Regular?  You should be using 91 octane premium unleaded or better in a GTP. See link below as to why.

Just curious, doesn't the inside of the gas tank cover say Premium fuel only? I know mines does.

BTW - I don't drive Hondas I ride them.

I still don't see what the big deal is. Here in Chicago were gas prices are fairly high on average in the USA. The price difference between low-grade and premium gasoline is around $0.20, sometimes $0.30. Since I drive a lot, I always just fill up from about 1/8th a gallon of gas in the tank. Say less than 15 gallons to fill.
In total, I would save around $3.00 if I were to use regular gas (87 octane). I fill up once a week, so about $12 a month.
I spend more on fast food. The price difference isn't a big deal as people make it.

Yeah I never put unleaded fuel in it! I mean for the price Id rather put the preium in it! its better than having to replace the motor. I have put unleaded in my car once I first got it and I only did that once and I could tell the difference and even burnt my plugs using unleaded. And the Honda comment! They are better on gas but would never own one! Isnt this a grand prix forum? LOL

What country are you living in? All retail pump gasoline sold in this country is unleaded. The Clean Air Act of 1996 banned all remaining leaded fuels for use in on-road vehicles. However, it is still available but for off-road (race cars), aircraft and marine use. But your point on using premium unleaded is well taken.

Ok point taken! Maybe I should of phrased it differently! Higher Octane! I know all gas at gas stations are unleaded but I was talking about the higher octane(Premium Unleaded Gas)
