purchasing question

hey all
i used to have a fully loaded 02 gt, traded it in a few years ago. i've come to the conclusion she was a lemon. got rid of it at 42k and went in for warrenty work bout 9 times in the 2 years i had it . from bearings, leaks, tranny valves, boots, a/c and bunch of other wierd things that went out.

Well, kinda lookin for another one. My wife bitches all the time she wishes it didnt have so many problems and we still had it cuz it was so comfortable for her to drive. but was wondering what year everyone thinks is best and what milage to avoid that problems are gonna be coming. she dont like the new body style, so im looking towards a 97-03. any input would be greatly appreciated.

seen this one, http://www.siddillon.com/Preowned-In...oryId=21617007

Re: purchasing question

There is nothing wrong with the one you posted. The new models like the 03 will probably be a better choice than say a 97 due to some upgrades that GM made over the years. The lower intake gaskets for one were an issue on the non-supercharged models but GM did make some changes on the newer models to correct the problem.

I have to agree with your wife they do ride very nicely and are comfortable to drive.

Re: purchasing question

I have an 02 GT that I got with 83k miles on it and it now has 150k and have very little trouble out of it. The only major thing was the valve cover gaskets, but that's something that is normal to go on these cars. I would stick with a 2000 or newer myself just because some of the ticks had been worked out. As for the car you had before, you must have got one someone finished 5 minutes before quitting time on a friday. lol
I looked at the link that you posted. Make sure you talk them down off that price. That's way too high. I bought my 02 in 04 with 83k miles on it and only paid $7500. Mine is exactly the same as that one except mine is like a midnight blue.
