10 Bolt Housings?

I have an 89 camaro with a 10 bolt and disc brakes. I found a 10 bolt from an 87 firebird with 4.10's, only problem is it has drum brakes. Can I bolt the backing plates and disk brakes from my car directly to the housing from the firebird? Are the housing ends the same?

Re: 10 Bolt Housings?

if you want that rear end for the gears, it would be a lot easier to buy a new ring and pinion and install that instead of swapping our rears.

good luck!

All you should need from the 87 is the carrier unit (it has the gears in it). Swapping out the entire rear end is a lot of work.
