How many miles???

Alright so my 00 GA GT just passed the 115,000 mile mark. I have done relatively little work to this car and it still runs great! I was just wondering how many miles everyone else has? I was also wondering if there were any problems I should be looking out for at this point???

Re: How many miles???

I traded in my 02 GT at 90K miles. the only things that were replaced was the Cat Converter at 35K miles?, the LIM at around 70K miles? and a thermostat at around 60K miles. otherwise everything under the hood was all original. I did have other things replaced over time like a multifuction switch, and a few other electrical or regular maintanence parts but otherwise the car was still running decent... I would have kept it if it wasn't for the massive amount of electrical problem i started to have and all the accidents I kept getting into which probably a cause to most of the electrical problems.

Re: How many miles???

I just rolled over 190k miles last weekend on my '98 2.4L and it still runs perfect. I've owned it since Oct-Nov '07, and all I have done to it is replaced the heater core shrowd, which I had to replace because someone broke it when they replaced the heater core. The sunroof isn't working so great, and it needs a timing chain tensioner. Other than numerous small problems (that got me a GREAT deal on it), it's in great shape.

My boss has a '97 (?) with the 3.1L and he's close to 200k miles, of course he's been complaining that he needs a new car because it's almost got 200k on it for probably close to a year, so who knows how close it actually is.

Here's a poll I did back when I bought mine http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=766743

Talking Re: How many miles???

Thanks for the link! It was very interesting! Anyone I ask says the engines are junk yet after 115,000 miles and no work done except for injectors and sensors the car still starts up the same it did when I got it! That poll really puts me at ease, I was starting to worry but I have now regained my confidence! Thanks

Re: How many miles???

Ahh yes, another mileage question. When I got rid of my 95 gt 2.3, it had 270k miles. All that I did to it was normal wear and tear (brakes, exhaust, clutch etc.) and as for extra things, a head gasket at 240k, timing chain at the same time since it was all apart anyway, a transmission at 260k, and the ac compressor at 225k. Other than that the car was great, and I certainly got my money out of it.

Re: How many miles???

I wish i could say i had good things to say about Grand Am i have a 95 with about 179,800 miles on the body it has now a strong 3.1 V-6 in it i have owned it for almost a year i done replaced the motor the trans front end all the brakes hoses the abs block the heater core ect: so as you can see i should have scraped it as soon as the motor went in it but now i have an old body with almost all new parts
