Coolant leak Please help!

about 3 days ago i noticed my blazer was leaking coolant, i brought it to my mechanic thinking it was my water pump, he indicated it was my intake gasket. yesterday i got it back yet again so see its leaking, i spent about an hour trying to find where its comming from. my question is.. if not the water pump or the intake where could it be leaking from, i would really appriciate anyone for giving any ideas...

Welcome to AF. First of all, what year is your Blazer and what size motor do you have? Next, the mechanic that you toke the your Blazer to. Is he a trusted mechanic? If so, you can pretty much take his word on it. If the water is leaking that bad. you can take a radiator pressure tester and pressurize it to 15lbs. If you don't have one handy. You can run your motor so that the radiator will have pressure to push the water through. You should be able to see it leaking between the intake manifold and the valve cover either on the left side, or right side.

Re: Coolant leak Please help!

I have a 2000 Blazer, with the 4.3 Vortec. the guy i took it to has been doing this his whole life and worked at gateway chevrolet for years so i trust his word. so heres the deal i can see its not the intake. or the water pump. i took it and pressure washed the bottem to be sure i was right still its obvious to see its niether of those things. the thing that gets me is the fact that noone can pin point the leak. the blazer is not over heating (runs at 195) it doesnt look like its the radiator. i thought it may be a hose but i still fail to se any leak, collant is pretty much all over the bottem of it again but i will be checking again today. thanks for posting and hopfully the info i just gave you may help more
