SI tranny on a DX?

lxndr and cvcc_wagon, this is a underhand softball throw right to you guys, I know you got this answer without even breaking a sweat and at least it will temporarily avoid the scandalous "passenger brake" type thread...lol...can an si 5 speed tranny bolt up to a 1342cc? I have been procrastinating my FI swap because of gas prices and the fact my d15 needs rebuilt. Until I get sick of getting 40 mpg, I am milking my carbed engine along. But having 5th gear from the SI tranny would be nice when doing 65+ MPH, so what do you think? Also, what would be the most ideal way to rebuild the d15 to maximize power (without turbo) and what would the total cost be...would it be better (aka cheaper) just to buy a used engine with about 50,000 miles on it and be done with it?

Re: SI tranny on a DX?

you're givung me too much credit, over the last two weeks i've been giving myself a crash course in all things old honda, but that's another story. i'm pretty sure you can bolt it up however there may be some difference in the flywheels or input shaft spline count. but to be completly honest i dont know any of this for sure, i'm more famillear with first and second gen civics and accords
