2002 Impala: Moisture in headlight assembly

My son has a 2002 Impala SL. He has just replaced the drivers side headlight assembly. Now the right one has moisture in it.
Is this a common problem with these assemblys?
Without having to spend so much replacing these things, How can you get the moisture out of these things and seal them so they will not leak?
Thanks in advance for any input.

About 98 % of all impalas have this problem from 2000-2005,g.m would'nt replace them even if your car was brand new unless there was water filling up inside the lens, not much you can do to fix the problem,i'm on my 11th impala in 3 years and hav'nt had one yet that was dry inside or found a way to fix it,if you find a way let me know

Re: 2002 Impala: Moisture in headlight assembly

I think that its tolerable to have some moisture in the headlight from time to time, especially during temperature fluctuations. It will look like fog on the inside of the lens on the side where the bulb isn't on. But if it gets to be where the condensation runs down the inside and collects then you either have a problem with the seal on the lens (very common) or a dust cap is loose. Make sure the dust cap fits snugly and the seal is clean from all debris. You can take a dust cap off to let the moisture evaporate and put it back on when its cool.
