pontiac sunfire gt 2001 bcm question?

Hi,i have a sunfire gt 2001,i want to know the utility of the single black wire coming out of the side of the bcm and not from the 3 plug, i have remove the bcm and there was a single black wire comming out of the side of the bcm and going inside the cable full of wire but i have try to pull gently on it and it came off the big cable of wire ?? is this a groud that i have broke or is this a antenna and is it okay to not be connected to nothing (p.s. my fog light don,t work so i have open to chek the bcm electronic board ) ?? thank,s you

That is the antenna. I was conserned about the same thing and checked the wiring diagram to make sure.
