Question disablling the theft system? can it be done ?

im currently have problems with the theft system in my car with it cutting the engine off when i start it and smelling gas afterwards the theft light blinks twice and then stays on. If theres anybody that had this problem and solved it without paying a fortune for repairs i would like to know how my wife and i are on a fixed budget and the price we were quoted at the dealership was more than our check can come up with at that time so if anybody has a solution for me i would be in the debt.

Re: disablling the theft system? can it be done ?

I have a similar problem with my 95 Cavalier except that it never had an alarm. I then replaced the engine and tranny from a wrecked 98 and now the car starts but stops and the theft light flashes. I do not know if it something with the computer or just the engine.

Either way I found this website when researching it.
http://www.passlock1.com/ the other address for it is "bypassmodules.com"

Never tried it but it may be what your looking for.

David.
