1998 C230 issues?

My boss is getting his wife a jag, and he's offering to sell me their 1998 C230 with 76k miles at a VERY reasonable price. My question is, do these have any known issues once they start pushing 100k+ miles? Everything I've read on them seems to suggest that they are very well built.

The only issues I've read about this particular model is the fact that the 2.3L I4 has some issues moving a car of that weight and size. Having driven this car for a couple days, I can attest to that.

My only concern is that I've read some people have issues with the transmission, but if there are problems, they usually show up around the 60k mile mark.

I don't make loads of money, but this is a very good price for any car, regardless of make, and from what I understand these particular models are extremely reliable. Other concerns with the car include things that one might overlook such as oil change cost and regular maintainence. I love the car, especially the older body style, but if it's not affordable, I'll look elsewhere.

These 2.3's are prone to headgasket leaks amongst other areas of the engine. Transmissions are usually pretty reliable, but autos can leak oil. Front end parts like to wear ( ball joints/control arm bushings in particular ). I've seen wiper motors pack it in and cost over a grand to replace!!
