Dual springs question.

I have a question about the dual springs.

I have tried searching and cannot find the answer I want.

With stock 241 heads on the LS1, what if anything would be required to run dual springs?

Sorry if that seems dumb, because it probably is. Thanks for any advice.

Re: Dual springs question.

Well, the ad says they are "drop in" springs, so you don't need anything more except for the tools to do the job

Re: Dual springs question.

Unless you're planning to rev it to the moon, there would be minimal benefit from changing the springs. The "beehive" (conical) springs in LSx engines are excellent to 7,000 RPM for stability, and a lower seat pressure than more conventional springs.

Based on the "numbers" in their advertisement, unless you've upgraded to a pretty serious cam, avoid them. Too much pressure and not necessary.

It's a 233/239 .595/.603 112 cam. It's pretty large. Thanks.

Re: Dual springs question.

I would suggest new seats and seals but other than that they drop right in.

I wouldnt run a 918 style spring to 7k very often.....for 1 they have had a few set backs and there have been a few batches of bad 918's sold.....if one of them hoes breaks then u can drop a valve.......If u run a dual spring then u dont have to worry about dropping the valve cause u got the back up spring in the middle incase the outside spring breaks or vice versa.....i woulda gone with duals springs the first time around but i got these 918's real cheap.
