Please Help: Axle Hub Nut

I am in a hurry now to get this car back on the road. I spent way to long yesterday getting nowhere and I have to drive it to work tomorrow.

I am changing the driver side CV axle on a 1992 toyota tercel. I have the complete axle ready to put in but I ran into a bit of a glitch yesterday when I tried to get the old one off. I removed the tire, the cotter pin and the nut lock. Once I got to the nut, I could not get it to budge. I spent 6 hours trying to get it to come off with no success. I I used WD4D on it. I beat the heck out of my ratchet with a hammer to try to get it to move, but ended up breaking my ratchet. I am stressing over this big time. Did I forget to do something? Is there a trick to it? I am at a loss. Please Help.

For my 92, I needed a 30mm deep socket. Then use a breakerbar, the longer the better. You'll only break a socket wrench since they can't handle that much torque. If you need to, use a pipe on the breaker bar to extend the length, known as a cheater bar, to slowly help unloosen it. I never use my hand on the cheater bar, just my fingers so that I don't overdo it.

Don't use a torque wrench to loosen a nut, it could help to damage the torque wrench.

Never use a cheater bar to tighten a bolt, too much torque and it'll break the socket, the bolt, the wrench and perhaps everything else around!

Most people will tell you to not use a cheater bar, but many people do, just be slow to unloosen it.
