my mr2 is suffering from air ram

i have an mr2 with a 2.0 turbo swap and a few days after completing the swap it started to suffocate when i step on all the gas, until it turns off . but if release the gas a few it runs fine but its not accelarating what it should. they tell me it could be a sensor or a air pipe that i misplaced or an unplugg aur pipe but i dont find what to do

Make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugging your exhaust. the center of the primary cat breaks out and clogs the secondary.

That happened to me...no fun. If you didn't check it out already...defiantly check into that. You'll also start to notice gas mileage dropping if it gets bad enough.

We hooked up a vacuum gauge and rev'd it in neutral. The vacuum gauge was ok at idle, but after we rev'd and let off, it didn't snap back right. Took longer than it should to return to where it should be. Long story short, the reading verified what we'd thought: there was a clog somewhere.

ac427cpe is correct. The primary cat/downpipe can break off and clog the exhaust and secondary cat, resulting in restriction that will cause a lack of acceleration.

If you want to visually inspect it, take it off the car and look @ it from the top side, don't just drop the b-pipe and look at it from the bottom. Part of the cat can melt over time, also causing restriction. You might not notice that unless you look at it from the top (inlet) side.
