I was told that inserting a fuse in the engine compartment fuse box of my 96 subaru outback would disengage the all wheel drive, but when I looked at the fuse box I did not see a fuse listed as the AWD fuse. The only open fuse socket was for a 45 amp fuse. Does anyone know if that is the AWD fuse that I'm looking for?

There is a fuse thing by the passengers side strut tower that says FWD. I think you take that fuse out but this is only a guess.
