Our 01 Chevy 3500HD Dually.

Well i'm very active in the J-body section of this forum, but we own a wide variety of cars in our garage. We just finished up building another show vehicle for our garage and figured i'd share it with you all. We remote mounted the turbo where we did to just do something different and show it off and that we can put a turbo wherever we want to.

Syracuse Sport compact and truck blast 07

2 of our other fully built turbo'd show cars. The fire and the RHD 95 Civic. Chris with his sunfire actually took home 1st in the j-body/ cobalt class and the truck took 3rd. We were quite shocked when the truck took 3rd actually.

Couple videos for you all. The BOV is loud as hell and when your cruising on the highway with the turbo mounted right behind the glass, it sounds like a jet engine with the windows up.

Enjoy, i know i sure as hell enjoy it

That certainly takes some heat out from under the hood and I'm sure you don't have any problems with getting enough cool air.
You should have put an intercooler that looks like a wing on the roof

Awesome idea BTW.

Re: Our 01 Chevy 3500HD Dually.

Its dyno tuned with HP tuners to run safely at 10psi all day long.

At 10psi it put down 429hp
at 18psi, it put down 489hp, broke a brand new 2" ratchet strap and jumped the dyno. The ratchet mechanism itself didn't break, but the strap itself. Had to slam on the brakes.

Stock internals still yes, its used mostly for towing only and don't race it. Its a t4 turbo and in the video above where i'm driving it and not towing anything, it was just starting to fully spool by 3/4 of the way through the traps. It was a little show and run at a the car show we were at and i want to say it was a 500 foot length of track from start to trap. We hit 55mph through that. While cruising on the highway however, from a 65 mile an hr roll it gets to 110mph in around 5 seconds we timed it. I have a video on my laptop and i'll throw that up sometime.

Guess you don't put stuff in your box? Would hate to get one of those pipes squished or scratched...

Re: Our 01 Chevy 3500HD Dually.

We use it for towing primarily. We have a 4 car trailer we hook up to it when we go to car shows and load them up onto it. The hitch is in the same mounting place as would a 5th wheel trailer.
