2000 Ranger

Im working on a 2000 Ford Ranger 4X4 at school and the four wheel drive isnt working. The vaccume solenoid that controls the vaccume to the front differential isnt getting any power at all. When you turn the switch you can hear it click a few times and then the indicator on the dash lights up. Turn the switch back to 2WD and it clicks again and the dash indicator goes out. Any ideas?

Re: 2000 Ranger

We already come up with that, but we wanted to try to figure out what the problem was.

Re: 2000 Ranger

i agree most aotu 4x4 systems are poorly engineered and if you correctly fix problem it will just crop up real soon. best to just fix more permanently.
