Blank spot in overhead console
Has anyone found a use for the blank spot in the front of the overhead console above the rearview mirror? I have been thinking of putting something in there but I cannot decide what... I have a 2002 1500 ext cab. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Re: Blank spot in overhead console
That overhead console is the same in the Tahoe/Yukon, and Burbans... Rear A/C and fan controller goes there

Now that you said that I remember seeing a Tahoe(or Yukon?) with it....but it didn't click in my head because I was playing with all the other electronics in it.

Re: Blank spot in overhead console
But as far as Silverados go its just pretty much useless? Has anyone come up with something creative to put there? I was thinking of mounting a remote head for a fire dept. radio there... just seems like a good place for something.

Nope.
In the LT version of the 2002 this is where the little display goes to display temp and direction.
I thought it was where the DIC went; but was corrected in a prior post years ago.
I store my sunglasses in there. My cell flys out when I hit speedbumps.

Half those sales guys couldn't tell you the time of day . When out looking at vehicles at dealers it amazes me how little many of the salespeople know about the product they are selling. Many times I ended up knowing more about the vehicle and the salesperson learned from me,( because I do all my research before entering a dealers' lot.) I think the dealership should make the time and require all of their sales people to learn about the vehicles they sell, especially the basic info.

I use to think they knew more about the paperwork side of the deal, but I have talked with a few that could even screw that up.
