Question 1987 S-10 4X4 Auto. 2.8L V6, Timing? Power?

I have a 1987 S-10 with the small 2.8L V6. It's an automatic with 4 wheel drive. I was wondering if anyone knows what the stock timing should be set at. My truck is getting worse milage and lack of performance. I has variable miss here and there. It has fairly new plugs and wires in it. I just wonder if the timing has been messed with in the past, cause it should get better milage than what it does? Should have more power too? Thanks!

Carb ot tbi or std or auto.
Most are +10 degrees base timed.
But with the tan and black stripe bypass wire disconnected.
It is under heater core housing in the cab.
