Question N/A Tuning?

Hello, this is my first post on this forum, never been here till today but it seems like a good place to find out soem info on my fav car. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience with going for Natural Aspiration instead of a turbo. I'm referring to on a ST-205(the 94-97's i do believe, or the model that came before that.(no offense to anyone else but i can't stand the new celicas compared to the oldies )

Ahhh, the mighty 3tge, the 4age's big Brother.

As a matter of simplicity a Turbo, or even swapping for 3tgte is the easiest option.
But if you want to go N/A then its not that hard to do.
Pretty much every Toyota engine has a mass of aftermarket parts avliable, and any good engine tunner will have thier own ways of extracting power from them. (if you find a tunner who knows nothing about a 3tge leave the shop and never go back).

The stock internals are in true Toyota fashion quite strong, and will stand up to most streetable mods.
Basicly you want to add some Cams, and Head porting, with a good exhaust. Dont worry about headers, as the Toyota items are as good as anything aftermarket, (unless your going racing of course).
Some kind of aftermarket intake isnt a bad idea either. But make sue it takes air from out side the engine bay.

What parts you choose depends upon where you are in the world, and whats avliable. But I recomend talking to a few local shops and see what they say.
The good news is there is plenty of options out there, from bolt in aftermarket parts, to going with custom bits.

all the way.

well, i'd prefer n/a. and as for streetability, doesn't matter. Arond where i live the cops aren't to bright at catching onto whether a cars legal or not so i'm going all out. I've even got an idea for a continual NOS injection system that i'm gonna get some engineer friends to take a look at to see if it's do-able. Basically i want to have an adjustable valve that could change the mixture ratio of gas and nos so that i could kinda use nos as regualr gas when i was racing instead of just for one quick boost. It would obviously have to be a smaller ammount of nos then when your dragging, but i think it might be a plausable(but also probably exspensive) alternative to a turbo, so that i could do n/a and still have a nice big boost to surprise people with. But if i do then i need racing quality forged pistons and i won't be able to bore out the engine because i'll need all the engine wall i can get.
