windshield marks

I put a piece of black electrical tape on my windshield wiper to keep it from falling apart and never did get around to replacing the blade. Now I have a mark on my windshield, not that can be felt, but CAN be seen. I tried Windex to see if I could get it off but with no luck. Wondering if anyone might have a suggestion..I have been told WD-40 might help. I have a Dodge Caravan, not that that fact should matter. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: windshield marks

If its a patch of adhesive, then acetone from a hardware store should soften it up for removal. Then next thing I would try would be polishing the area with Chrome Cleaner.
