Angry 2001 Chevrolet Venture "Power" sliding door problem!

GA_googleFillSlot("Forums_ROS_300x250_noad");Hello , everyone!! I own a 2001 Chevrolet Venture which has dual "power" sliding doors. Just recently, the driver’s side started acting up. When I go to close the power door it will close to about 3/4 of the way, then for no reason, reverse direction back to the open position. It will do this about 90% of the time. Any advice would be truly appreciated. I thank you for all, in advance, for any responses. Thank you.

Re: 2001 Chevrolet Venture "Power" sliding door problem!

My 99 Venture had something similar with the PSD on the passenger side. It would not work at all if it was open when I started the motor, I would have to close it manually and then it would function again. The "buzzer" sound went away and the revers feature when closing on something mid-way stopped working. I traced these issues to a short in the wiring under the carpet in front of the passenger seat. A lot of the wiring for the van goes through this bundle under the carpet in front of the front passenger seat. I had a water leak at the firewall and the wires sit in a trough under the carpet and so they were soaked and some of the connections had corroded. If your front carpet is wet, check the wiring for corrosion.

Thats my spin on this one.

That same wet spot also screws up the door lock/unlock circuit- you'll soon see the passenger door lock inop-if it is not fixed......

Re: 2001 Chevrolet Venture "Power" sliding door problem!

I just had my 2001 Chevy Venture in the shop on 2/28/08 for service. Not only did the dealer replace the pasengers power door handle, but they also replaced the drivers side one too as part of the recall.
