Engine Swap

Hello everyone! I am new to VW tuning. I have recently acquired an 87 Scirocco and I want to do an engine/trans swap. I want to put in a late model engine with the goal of making a really fast scirocco. Can any of you suggest a motor that will fit in the Scirocco engine bay (Audi S4 motor perhaps?) I am not worried about getting a motor that will "bolt right up" as I am prepared to fabricate custom mounts, etc.. Thanks for your help!

Re: Engine Swap

If your not worried about fabbing. Pick a motor and try to get it in there. But you don't need huge displacement to make a fast Scirocco!! Trust me, driven them! 2.0L, 16 valves and a turbo will get you fast. But it better have aftermarket suspension or you'll end up in a BAD situation!!
