adding new key

Hi, i have a 2000 Grand Prix GT and only one key. I need to get a new key, figured i'd pickup a blank from ebay for the correct year and have it cut. How do i make the car learn the new key? I read someplace that if you have VIN starting with 2 that you need two master keys to do this procedure. Just checked and mine starts with 1 so i should only need one key right? Anyeone know what the procedure is and care to share? thanks!
