My 97 Pathfinders alarm keeps going off in the middle of the night or when it is parked and no one is in it. My door ajar light flickers and stays on while I am driving. Do I need to replace the door ajar switches? or is there an adjustment or fix for the problem? I am a little mechanically inclined but I have a small budget to fix the problem. The neighbors are complaining about the alarm in the middle of the night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would suspect a bad ground wire some where in the door ajar switch circuit is creating your problem. Check for rust around the switch and corrosion at any of the electrical connections.
