Question where to find seat covers for 1986 528e?

Hello,

Anyone know where can I can find seat covers for a 1986 528e? All the seat covers i can find are generic and interfere with the seat arm rest, so they dont fit. Looking for aftermarket ones so it doesnt cost me a grip of money.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Definitely try Bavarian Autosport at www.bavarianautosport.com. There you can input your year and model of BMW (I happen to have exactly the same car as you), and all applicable parts and accessories will be listed. Go to 'Interior' and the 'Accessories - Interior'. There are three items listed:

Plush Genuine Sheepskin Seat Covers for $359.95
--You have a choice of colors
--They are apparently cut to match your seats precisely

Cotton/polyester "Seat Savers" for $89.95 (set of 2)
--Available in black, blue, brown or tan

They also offer a massaging heatable seat cushion which straps to the seat, on sale for $89.95.

I do not have any of these items, so I cannot give you any information concerning their comfort or effectiveness. However, I have ordered numerous other items from Bavarian Autosport and can testify that their sales representatives are very friendly and helpful. If you have questions regarding these items, you can call them at (800) 535-2002.

Craig, thats really cool, I was looking for some too. I'll call them tomorrow and check it out.

BTW, I have an 86 528E I'm getting ready to sell (which is why I need to recover the drivers seat) and am selling the wheels from it. If either of you guys are interested, see my post in this forum ("MOMO R3s").

Thanks for the info Craig.

Sure, no problem. My car already has 16" Borbet Type H wheels, and I have almost no money besides what my car is worth, so I don't think I'm a good candidate for your MOMO wheels.

I'm actively trying to sell my car as well. You might agree that the design is getting a bit old, and I really want either an E34 525i or a W124 M-B 300E (see my posts elsewhere). Here's where I face a dilemma: no spare money + more expensive next car = high asking price for the 528e. The paint on my car (Polaris metallic) is flawless, and the Pacific Blue leather is in very good condition. Aditionally, it has the aforementioned wheels, and some items I've added--a Pioneer 6-disc CD changer in the trunk, brand-new Hella Quartz Halogen headlights, and a keyless entry system now on the way from Bavarian Autosport. I've also replaced the power antenna so it actually works now, and fixed the power headrests, so they work too. Think I can get $5,000? Maybe. However, the car has 275,000 original miles, but an engine rebuilt less than 20K ago--basically it runs like new. Now I'm not so sure. How much would you pay for this car? I have a feeling I'll be waiting around, saving up some extra change before I make my move!

Have the best of luck selling your own car!
