No Heat On Passenger Side Floor

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab Z71 with the 5.7L. The heater does not blow any air to the passenger side floor, no matter how hot or cold it is, or how high the fan is turned up.

A friend of mine has a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 Extended Cab 4x4 with the 8.1L, and his truck has the same problem.

Is this a common problem? How can I fix it?

Re: No Heat On Passenger Side Floor

Hi: all the chev/GMs trucks have a plastic under dash cover that some times will get out of aline and block off the air flow to the floor. if you open your owners manual to the index and look up cabin filters it will explain how to replace them, cost is $40 apx. when the filters are in a dirty condition the nature of the beast to not let the heat out on the passenger side floor area. the gm techs don't know or give a crap about cabin filters unless asked to change them, then have the nerve to tell me it did'nt come with a filter. good luck 463
