Can anyone confirm that this a non-interferenced design? I have received conflicting information.

Actually my question was in error. It is a 2002 4 cyl. 2.4.

I have an old chart that ends with 2002 Camrys and all 4 cylinder engines are non interference engines.


My 2004 LE is driven by timing chain. So no worries here.

2002 4 cyl 2AZ-FE has timing chains (not a timing belt) and is a non-inteference (free-running) engine.
