Yea mate you need to cut it off with a Junior Hacksaw, If you flip out the centre plastic with a screw driver then cut down slighty off centre you'l go thru the rubber and hit a white resin plastic, Peal off the rubber then repeat the process with the plastic ressin until you reach the metal threaded shaft.
first of all you wanna make sure u have brought a gear knob that you "lift up" for reverse.
I made the mistake of buying a cheap gear knob without checking.
what i did with mine is i pulled it and twisted it until i broke the plastic splines inside, causing the knob to spin round and even at time fly off during gear changes. i then realised that the knob i had brought did not fit, as it was not a "lift up" one. so i couldnt get reverse. (which isnt good!)
so i went out to bvuy a proper lift up gear knob and it works perfect!
hi mate, ignoresmiler_84!! you dont wanna hacksaw it offm, i twisted mine off. Just twist it as hard as you can and you break it free! then you wont be cutting into the metal stick inside. Just Make Sure The Knob You Have Bought Is A Lift Up One.!!!!!!!
