It is very cold in my town in the single to low double digit numbers.
My car has not had an experience with a low battery since I have owned it.
I drove it earlier the same day for about an 1hr and a half.
Then when night came I turned it on warmed it up and when I finally start driving I get to the end of my neighborhood and the Steering Wheel Tightens up to the point I cannot turn it. I stop and shut the car off and as I turn it off the oil light comes on.
After about 20 mins I enter in more engine oil. I let it sit and then try to turn it on to no avail.
I tried to Jump start it. When I finally tried the car lost power with every attempt at cranking the engine on.
Now the car sounds dead if it sounds at all when I try to turn it on.
Could the starter have failed due the weather on such short notice?
Battery? Low engine oil frozen?
Then I noticed the coolant is also a bit low.
Any suggestions would help before I take the car in if needed. Thanks.
Sometimes the Mitsubishi distributor/coil unit malfunctions. $800 at the dealer, $250 rebuilt at the parts store. Or the main computer, about $400 exchange plus $100 for dealer-only programming.
Anything beyond simple (like the battery), get the dealer diagnosis.
