interchange for transmission for s 10 blazer 97 modellindgyle 01-19-2008, 09:51 PM i have a 97 model s10 blazer that has a tranmission out i was just wondering would a 94 model s10 blazer work. they both have the same size motor. blazes9395 01-20-2008, 12:08 AM The '94 will not interchange with the '97. You have to find a '96 and up basiclly. randy78 01-31-2008, 04:50 AM you cant say that specifically/for sure based solely on the year IMHO 92 to 94 were changeover years to VSS and such really should compare the trannies physically to be 100% certain regarding interchangeability i see no reason why a 94 one would not work in a 97 unless the wiring was different physically between them in which would be visually obvious but a 94 one could very well be early style wiring still some yes and other no :D blazes9395 01-31-2008, 11:42 AM I can for sure tell you that based on year it will not fit/interchange. The '94 had different electronics/setup, also the '97 has physically a different transmission case. The '96 and up were two piece cases, with the bellhousing one piece, and the transmission being the second piece. Just for the record, the '95's were different, and pretty much unique to that year, as the operation(PWM function etc) were pretty much used in that year only. The mid '92 to '94 4L60E were all the same, pretty much. MT-2500 01-31-2008, 11:50 AM Blazes9395 Is correct. They are all together different. Check the salvage yard interchange or look in the parts books. MT vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
