Bad idea?

Okay so if i were to find some expensive underseat neon LED lights lyin around, how would i get the positive wire to the battery? Do i need to go as far as drilling a hole in my car or is there already some extra space for that under the dash?

Again, im pretty new at all this and am very cautious about things i could really screw up =P.

Some help would be great and very much appritiated. Thanks

Re: Bad idea?

I got underdash lights. Just splice them into the POS and NEG from your cigarette ash tray light, all I did. no need to fuse it then either, it will use the factory fuse, if you wantjust put a bigger fuse in, I left mine alone, no problems at all.

Re: Bad idea?

Sounds easy, but one problem, my cavy doesnt have an ash tray, OR a light for it either. Any other ideas?

Re: Bad idea?

The approach I took for my interior LEDs was a little different. I don't have a switch for mine, they come on when you turn on your headlights with the rest of the dashboard illumination. And if you like that idea, Its pretty simple, I just pulled out the center consule, which wasn't too hard, and tapped the LED wires into the light in the shifter. Now keep in mind I have an auto. I'm not sure if manual's have a light there or not.

Re: Bad idea?

You got a cavi that dont got the light or ashtray. Damn. I dont knwo why GM would do that but its the weirdest thing I still yet have to understand. Yeah mine are like that too, when I turn my parking lights or full headlights on they come on. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. You have to tap into some kind of power wire, or run one from the battery. IF you do from the battery, rememebr to put an inline fuse in.

Re: Bad idea?

Yep, no ashtray for me. Maybe it was an option? i dont know

I have an automatic also, but im not sure how to go about removing the consule. Im gonna go see if i can find some other power source in the meantime. Maybe you can give me a basic rundown of removal? Or anyone else's methods?
