2000 Monte TRAC LIGHT/ ABS LIGHT STILL ONborninabarn 01-19-2008, 06:49 PM Hello Friends, I put 2 new Delco wheel bearings on the front.New Delco rear struts(Less than aftermarket)The Traction light and ABS light are still on.The shop that did all the work for me said the code came up a short in the ABS system.Just wonderd if any of you have had this happen and what ended up being the culprit? Thanks,Born edson4433 01-19-2008, 11:52 PM I read in some other posts on this issue that a split sensor wire was the culprit. Seems to be a common occurance. MONTECARLOLT 03-02-2010, 01:32 PM it could be as simple as having the wrong size of tires. during the winter i put 215/70/16 but during the summer i put back 225/60/16. and my trac& abs light goes away as soon as i put back stock tires on. if the circumfrence of the tire is more than 1 inche bigger it can set off the lights. Cuzzi 04-03-2011, 11:10 PM . I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS, I put into drive and then I get Service Traction System warning light on and then ABS light goes on and then TRAC Light off comes on... It turned out to be ABS Motor Pump, $1500 new or $75 from junk yard, You can do it your self, it takes about 2 hrs and don't forget to bleed the breaks sarahdear 08-01-2011, 12:14 AM I had this problem and took it to a dealer. I had to have the wheel bearings replaced and the left one had a bad sensor in it Seems to have solved the problem! Drives a little quieter too! I looked at the old bearings and they were all rusty and bent! Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
