Found This To Be InterestingMSimpson 01-19-2008, 03:06 PM http://www.rd.com/content/75-tips-to-keep-your-car-in-top-notch-condition/ What do you agree/disagree with? cardboardpimp420 01-19-2008, 05:43 PM i just read through a few of those, i think getting a light key chain is a little over kill, not once have i or heard of anyones ignition lock wearing out. but overall that list is just too much time in taking care of your car. I think its best just to use your common sense and not abuse your car blazee 01-21-2008, 08:00 PM I see some things that are important and belong on the list. I also see a lot of things that are inaccurate or just added to bloat the list. I'm sure the author was very proud of himself for this list, unfortunately, it makes it painfully obvious that the author has little or no automotive experience. Blue Bowtie 01-21-2008, 10:50 PM I particularly disagree with many of the points in their car storage advice. I've stored several cars for months at a time for a couple of decades, and would not heed some of their suggestions and am surprised at some of their oversights. I thought the ignition lock advice was good, since I've replaced several cylinders from that kind of abuse. They blew it on #3, since blending fuel at a station (other than adding trace additives) is illegal, and ethanol is blended at the depot, not the dispensing station. The majority of the points were valid. Still, with the exception of a few items (right or wrong) it could all have been condensed by suggesting that owners simply read and heed the owner's manual for their vehicle. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
