I am partial to the silver g's. I have one suggestion. Get the bottom part of your car painted to match the rest f the silver. I think it makes the car look better. I did mine myself. I lived in Atlanta for a while... I miss the Varsity and Krystal Burger at 4 am in the morning. AznVirus 10-14-2001, 04:28 AM looking good, aw man i miss my P10 :( primera man 10-14-2001, 04:33 AM Looking good....nice and clean lines kenchan 10-14-2001, 09:55 AM gooood job dude!!! :D very clean and sharp! NismoG20 10-14-2001, 11:49 AM yea man i love the varsity... one weekend we went there 3 times .... not good if u are on a diet...ha like 80g of fat per hot dog... thanks yall i have been workin hard on making my paint look as good as possible.... when i bought it there were alot of stains from being parked at the airport cause i bought my car off some old pilot... yea im thinkin about getting my sides painted but im worried they might not match it right... so ive been lookin around at different places GtRider 10-14-2001, 08:33 PM hey nismog20 nice lights!! what kind of spraypaint did you use to spray them? did you had to tape up the reverse light? NismoG20 10-14-2001, 09:31 PM it is red transparent paint.. i bought it at my local hobby store yes i taped it up... i actually covered the whole back of my car with newspaper cause i couldnt get the lights off and i didnt feel like bothring with them TIZAO 10-14-2001, 09:49 PM Got anymore pics of kelly?.....just kiddin....nice car.:smoka: 95_G20_P10 10-14-2001, 10:51 PM how did u get ur grill out to put in teh mesh?? i can figure out how to get it out?? please help Swonder67 10-14-2001, 11:45 PM There are 4 tabs, two on the top, and two on the bottom. You can either just reach in with your hand and pinch the tab and pull out the grill, or you can use a flathead screwdriver and push in the tab and pull the grill out Swonder67 10-14-2001, 11:48 PM The actual name of the paint is "Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red" NismoG20 10-15-2001, 06:29 PM i cut out the actually inside grill part with a saw. then sanded the edges broke off the chrome part cut out gutter gaurd to fit under gluded it all back together it was simple once i figured out what i was gonna do MoReace 10-15-2001, 09:52 PM Paint job looks good too, is it original? How did you plug up the holes in the trunk from the rear Infiniti symbol? Lights look good. ales 10-16-2001, 03:10 AM Originally found on Craig's webpage me and kelly(had to put that in there) Show off! :D :D :D  Nice car. I would add the Infiniti symbol to the mesh of the grille, but not at the centre, but somewhere asymmetrically, like to the bottom left of the mesh. IMHO, of course. aluke000 10-16-2001, 03:25 PM Tails lights look good. Did you put a couple of coats of clear over it? I saw a Toyota on the freeway a while back that obviously did not. It looked like he took it through a car wash and the red was partially scraped off the edges. radicalG20 10-16-2001, 03:49 PM "Paint job looks good too, is it original? How did you plug up the holes in the trunk from the rear Infiniti symbol? Lights look good." There are no holes in the trunk. The only thing holding on the emblems on is a really strong glue. Just take a heat gun to them, and with some patience, they will come off. Then carefully clean the glue residue off and you're all done. Also, the silver g20 looks great, all it needs now are a smooth set of wheels. Overall, a very good start. MoReace 10-16-2001, 03:55 PM I thought it had 2 prongs holding it on, I know the front one does. I took it off once, broke off the tabs and glued it on the tip of the hood as a emblem. :) MoReace 10-16-2001, 03:57 PM Also had the mesh grill for a while, but didn't cut out the bars so it was a little messed up on the top. I didn't want to mutilate my grill. maybe I'll do it again and do it right. I am worried that the mesh is bendable thougha nd if something touches it there will be a dent and it will look stupid radicalG20 10-16-2001, 04:06 PM There are no holes in the rear. I took off my original emblems a couple of years ago. Also, I had Trendz custom make a front insert for my grille (I put a 96 grille w/insert on my 92 p10) search the cosmetics category and you'll find the pic under flip flop g20. NismoG20 10-16-2001, 06:45 PM yea man thats the original paint.... there are a few car door dents but thats about it im planin on getting some silver 17's and droppin it after that i hope it will look good as hell greekman 10-16-2001, 07:04 PM car looks good. so fresh, so clean. so to paint the lights you just left them on the car, covered the reverse lights, covered the car and the black part around the lights, then spray painted. if it's this easy, i think i might do it also, it looks good. did you replace your front corner lights? if so, what did you replace them with? and was that hard to do? JustinP10 10-16-2001, 07:46 PM Originally posted by greekman did you replace your front corner lights? if so, what did you replace them with? and was that hard to do? It looks like he just put some hyperwhite bulbs in them. I had them for a while, but i didn't like the white flashing, and how it lit up the side of the road when i went to turn. :( So i put the stock bulbs back in, and now have some very cool, silvervision bulbs by Philips. NismoG20 10-16-2001, 07:50 PM JustinP10 is right... i just have hyperwhite bulbs in there... it was actually really easy to do and the first thing i did to my car make sure u do a good job tapin everything up and make sure to tape up the part that is already red also JUST PAINT THE ORANGE PART! AznVirus 10-16-2001, 09:43 PM honestly, id suggest taking the tail lights out, only a couple of bolts to take out. theres a big chance of overspraying onto the trunk, and you dont want that. NismoG20 10-16-2001, 10:21 PM haha man ... i posted a post asking how to do it and no one would tell me... but yea i would take them off too and then that way it can evenly dry...mine driped in one spot but i sanded it and it looks fine Swonder67 10-16-2001, 10:35 PM there are little plastic things covering the bolts, all you need to do, is pull those off with some pliers, then the bolt should be right there for you. I know, too late. MoReace 10-21-2001, 11:11 PM I took the lights off completely and painted the entire part red including the part that was already red. Came out nice, and blinkers blink red. greekman 10-22-2001, 02:57 AM moreace- what kind of paint did you use? brand? color? etc... nismog20- same question-what paint,etc... MoReace 10-22-2001, 09:31 AM Testors Candy Apple Red Swonder67 10-22-2001, 11:51 AM Testors TRANSPARENT candy apple red GtRider 10-22-2001, 01:27 PM hey MoReace nice lights! you had to tape up the reverse lens on the lights right? was the whole process hard to do? MoReace 10-22-2001, 01:59 PM just cover it w/ duck tape. There is a groove around the reversel light so u can then use a razor blade to cut out around it. Peel off the outside and the reverse light is perfectly covered. Swonder67 10-22-2001, 02:59 PM The tails look good MoReace. Sometimes it's hard to paint even, but you did a good job. MoReace 10-22-2001, 03:40 PM Thanks, I had a friend help out a lot. he does most of the work on my cars. He does a good job for cheap. ;) MoReace 10-22-2001, 03:43 PM 1 more view to admire, and yes I know, the bumpers need to be reapainted :) Actuall the whole car does. Just can;t find that tree that grows money. In time it will come AznVirus 10-22-2001, 05:46 PM very nice lights, but i liked my black/red before :D Swonder67 10-22-2001, 07:55 PM Originally posted by AznVirus very nice lights, but i liked my black/red before :D Hey AZN, what do you mean, "before"? hehe, j/k wickedG20 10-22-2001, 08:46 PM the lights look clean. but I still like aznvirus's smoked out lights the best. they look -wicked- AznVirus 10-22-2001, 09:28 PM Originally posted by Swonder67 Hey AZN, what do you mean, "before"? hehe, j/k ... stop teasing me! :finger: :flipa: GtRider 10-22-2001, 10:58 PM hey MoReace you painted the whole lens on the back lights? Nismog20 did you paint the whole lens too or just the orange part? both of you used the same paint? i noticed that nismog20 lights looks lighter than moreace lights! MoReace 10-23-2001, 12:15 AM I painted the whole lens w/ Testors transparent candy apple red spray paint. I might just have used more coats. it is personal preference. I used testors glossy coat finish as well GtRider 10-25-2001, 12:58 AM planning to paint my back lights diz weekend, need to find out weither to paint the whole lens or just the orange part? nismog20 you said to "make sure to tape up the part that is already red also JUST PAINT THE ORANGE PART" but moreace, you painted the whole lens in the back rite? nismog20 how many coats of paint did you use on your lightz?, i think your lights look BAD Azz!!!! NismoG20 10-25-2001, 09:49 PM i sprayed it about 3 times just as long as u get it even it wll look straight ricecube77 10-26-2001, 01:22 AM i ended up painting mine too will post some pics... the testors red goes on clear fairly easy, since its really light paint. the damned clearcoat dripped in 2 spots.. its really thick gooky junk. the drips are very light, and can only be seen if u stick your head 1 inch from my lights... -Phil -Thx for the help painting! GtRider 10-26-2001, 12:52 PM hey NismoG20 did you use clear coat after you finish painting the lights? NismoG20 10-28-2001, 07:36 PM no i didnt and its still looks the same as it did the first day i did it no fadding or chips and i wash my car about once a week and still hasnt fadded DCastillo 10-31-2001, 05:04 AM good shit vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
