Re: 94 escort dies while driving
Did it just start doing this or ever since the repair? Either way, it makes me wonder if the pump is no longer firmly attached. I vaguely recall some of them having a decending hose to the pump....strap...nylon tie...it's getting kinda of fuzzy. I'm not personally familiar with that vehicle's pump, though it probably is similar to my 95 taurus. The other thought is, are you putting more gas in the tank than you used to. Another words, before it may have been 10 gals at E and is now 10 at 1/4 tank? This would mean that the tank level sender is down lower in the tank and you really are out of gas and the pump is ok, hopefully. If this happened right after the last repair, that's ok and better than the pump possibly loose. But if either condition developed later on, I personally would look at it to be sure everything is alright. I wouldn't want those things loose in the tank. I just looked at the Autozone repair guide for your vehicle. Boy, I wish the ones I've done were that accessible! No tank to drain and drop! If you don't mind doing it yourself, it doesn't look too bad to do, but follow every safety point and direction to a T and have good ventilation as you are dealing with gas!!!
