Water Pump replacement 626 4Cylinder 1997

Anybody have any feedback on how hard it is to change the water pump on this car. Its my daughter's car and antifreeze is coming out the relief hole on the bottom of the pump. I have changed pumps before on other models of cars but never a 1997 mazda 626. Any links or info would be appreciated. Why does my cars always breakdown in the cold.......It can never be spring or summer....LOL....Thas life I guess.

Not unlike any other car with a transverse mounted engine. You have to take the belts, the crank pulley and the timing belt off to get to it. The hardest part is usually getting the crank pulley off. Make sure you change the timing belt at the same time.
