Angry Keyless entry again....

I just bought a 2000 Silverado Z71, and supposedly when you hit the lock button on the remote twice within 3 seconds, the horn will chirp. Mine does not do this. The only thing I can get my remotes to do is lock the doors and unlock the doors. Also, I thought when you hit unlock once, it would unlock the driver's side, then when you hit unlock again, it would unlock the passenger's side. Mine unlocks both sides at the same time. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

Addition to: Keyless entry again...

I have done the reprogramming tricks listed in this forum for a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, but this doesn't seem to do the trick for me. Is it possible that the previous owner disabled something? The red button on the transmitter does not set off the lights/horn like it should either. I'm getting really frustrated here!

Thanks for any help guys.

Followup....

The Chevrolet dealership is now telling me that the two keyless entry transmitters I have are not "factory" transmitters. They say that they "think" the keyless entry system is an aftermarket system. Didn't a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado come with a factory keyless entry system??? Are these guys pulling my leg?

Post your vin number or email it to me and I can look into this for you. There for a while dealers were on a kick of installing silencer anti theft alarms as well as others. I know the dealer I work for did it for a while and it created several problems exspecially for the parts dept, when ppl needed new transmitters.

According to Connell Chevrolet, installation of aftermarket alarm systems voids your vehicle's warranty.
