What is a better replacement engine for a awd coupe, the ej18 n/a or the ej22 n/a?

True, all else being equal. Be careful about wiring changes, especially if you jump up to a motor wired for OBD II.

I asked because I thought my engine was about to blow when I heard the valve lash adjusters; they need replacement.
