at operating temp. with it in gear it purrs like a kitten for a while and then it starts trying to die but wont and the longer you run it the worst it gets until that is all that it is doing is just catching itself constantly. I am a mechanic and this one has got me puzzled. I have replaced the maf and coolant temp sensor. It shows nothing on my solis to cause the problem and the only thing that moves when it does it is the system voltage and the iac nothing else shows any glitch. any suggestions?

Does it do this just at idle or at all operating rpms? How is it when cold?
Have you looked at the iac? It can be taken off and sprayed with some WD40. It'll lubricate it and clean it at the same time. You are getting no codes?

no it diesnt do it while its cold and it is only at idle no other rpm and it doesnt act like iac, I have watched the iac on my solis and it is correcting fine when it is doing it, I did however mean to mention that when it warms up it get this pecking/ticking noise toward the 3/4 cylinders and it is not in the valve cover, it almost sounds like it is coming from the intake? I have touched everything while it is doing it and I cant find the source, but when it starts the peck that is when it starts the dieing coincidentally.

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me... either on the intake or from the head.

Ive checked all vacuum hoses and pcv, If it were a vacuum leak it would do it from the time that it idled down crom high idle. It takes it about twenty to thirty minutes to start doing it from a cold start. It sounds like something electronic getting hot and breaking down, coil pack or cam sensor perhaps?
